Geetha has totally reinvented three of my most boring sarees into stunning pieces of wearable art. What I love about her is the passion and dedication with which she handles each saree that comes to her. This saree has a bittersweet story, but it ends with a happy twist. 😌 It’s my first black saree. Although I’ve always admired how stunning they look, I was too superstitious to buy one. I’d heard black shouldn’t be worn on auspicious occasions, so I never dared to invest in one. (I know, silly me.) But this one was a gift, and I loved it instantly. I kept it aside for two years, waiting for the perfect occasion. Finally, Diwali came, and I wore it to join friends for firecrackers and sparklers. Everything was fine until a rocket shot up, and a tiny fireball landed inside my pleated pallu. I quickly brushed it off, but later that night, I discovered multiple holes in the pallu and a large burn on my blouse. Fortunately, the blouse padding saved me from injury, but I was heartbroken to see my new saree damaged. 😞 I couldn’t help but wonder if it was a sign, but I quickly reminded myself not to be superstitious. Still, I couldn’t bear to look at the saree for a while. Months later, I decided to revive it. I had the pallu shortened, restitched, and block-printed in pink, blue, and gold. A huge thanks to Geetha Shetty for bringing my saree back to life & customising it to my requirement 😌 Recently, I wore it again to a 1000-year-old temple on the outskirts of Bangalore. May God bless both me and my black saree! Now, I’m completely in love with it all over again.

I have had great experience working with Geetha Shetty from Paisley silks. She has revived some of my old and precious sarees and has breathed new life in them. I had 2 sarees that were stained badly. She has chosen prints which hid the stains and now the sarees look better than the original saree! I had one of my grandmother's Kancheepuram saree with a torn pallu. I wanted to revive that saree and Geetha did a great job attaching a new border and pallu to it. I had a beautiful old kanjivaram sari of my grandmother which is I guess is almost 80 years old. It is a peach and dark brown combination sari. The sari had stains and I didn't want to go away with it as had memories of my grandmother attached to it. Then I spoke to Geetha as what can be done so that I can retain the sari with the color also. When the sari was refurbished I was taken by surprise with the work done on it. I have been associated with Geetha Shetty for the last 18 years plus. I recently revived my silk sarees through Paisley Silks and Geetha had done such a fabulous job that my wardrobe looks brand new with designer sarees. I found Geetha via a common friend. I had several of my late mother’s saris that were unusable due to staining, color running etc. I took her a stack of saris. Geetha patiently went through each one, determined which ones could handle being printed over and which ones were just too fragile now. I had saved some ideas from her instagram and she pulled out other samples and provided very valuable input. She had great ideas on what would actually work with the saris chosen. She completed the work very quickly and got the saris back to me in record time! I took more saris back to her a second time! I love the way the saris now look and am so thrilled to be able to wear them again.

This sari, one of my favorites, was originally cream with this reddish-pink border. The border ran color terribly when the sari was washed. The sari was stained beyond repair. This over print in pink floral has made the sari wearable again and I am thrilled!

This sari is the one mysore crepe that Geetha felt was strong enough to take the print. It was stained and was a style I don’t like - one side border. Geetha cleverly made it to look like a double side border and added great visual interest to the sari with the mix of black and white print.

What Geetha has done to my sarees is simply amazing as well as stunning ! I had 4 precious sarees that were not being worn at all. Then I found Geetha and also my 4 sarees again! Geetha gave it a much deserved second chance by very smartly integrating stains into the pattern and owning the colour of the stains too. That is a very smart and sensitive way of approaching the problem in hand. She has a keen ear to the client's needs!
